The increase in population and personal income is evident by the signs of growth can be seen almost everywhere in Branson West, Stone County's most dynamic community.  At its heart is the county's busiest intersection, MO. 76 and Mo. 13.  The young town's commercial activity far outweighs its modest population, although the balance may shift as new development projects are completed.

Called Lakeview at its incorporation in 1974, the name was changed to Branson West in 1992.  In 1994, the construction of a Wal*Mart Supercenter provided a retail boon as residents were attracted from a broad area.

In other parts of town, retail areas, restaurants and residential areas are under constrution or in the planning stages.

The recent completion of a major road construction project, the Highway 13 bypass, improves traffic flow and will allow commercial development opportunities west of the community's present commercial district.

A general aviation airport with a runway of up to 5,000 feet on Branson West's western edge is another highly anticipated project.  Ground was broken in October 2006 for "Emerson Field". 

Completion of the projects will allow for additional retail and manufacturing growth  and will enhance the trade from tourists who pass through Branson West to readh Table Rock Lake.

Municipal services have led the way for commercial and residential growth by staying ahead of development.  The city's water and sewer services have the capacity to serve the new developments and annexed areas.  Improvements are also planned for connector streets where commercial growth continues.
