Geo-Caching

Geocachers can hunt in the hills to their hearts' content around Table Rock Lake in search of about 700 caches within the Kimberling City postal zip code.

A hobby only a few years old when the technology became available to the general public, geocaching in the Ozarks is roughly doubling in popularity each year.  Required equipment for this high-tech treasure hunt is a GPS address of the cache you want to find.  A GPS unit will determine your location on the planet as accurately as within six feet.  When a cache address or "waypoint" is programmed into the unit, the unit will display directions from your location to the waypoint.  Then, it's up to you to find the cache within the radius of a few feet.
